It's About That Time....

For what, you say? No, not the new TV season starting, although I am looking forward to NCIS, NCIS LA, and the Mentalist, of course. Nope; this is where I watch my DH turn into an excited kid again, whispering to his friends and our son every time he sees them. You ask what he whispers? "28 more days" to finally, "one more day!"
Yes, once again, he finds the "other woman"....college football. (sigh) I pretend to mind, but really I don't. I love it, too, though I think I'm definitely saner about it. And to start it off with a bang, we're having some family and friends over for the nationally televised...drumroll, please...
TaDa! NCSU (GO PACK!!) and South Carolina game. Hope it's a good one. But just in case, we have Mississipi Mud Cake to either celebrate or drown our sorrows with. Chocolate is always a winner; say no more.

On the stitching front - Finishes are.....

Diana's RR for the Friendship Sampler Round Robin...

Alphabet Pumpkin by JBW Designs...

WIP updates are...

Freebie by Dahlia; Anne les petites croix...

Reading by LHN....

Travel Sampler.... I know it looks like it hasn't grown much, but I have worked on the border some....honest.

Bagira gave me the cutest award...thanks so much!
It's a red cat painted coffee (?) for luck (I think the language translator changed words around just a tad here) But I just love this little guy. So in keeping, I'm passing him on. The rules are as follows:
1. Thank and link to the person awarding you.
2. Share your blog award logo.
3. Select and link to 10 bloggers (I'm fudging this one)
4. Send comments about their award to the nominees.

And the nominees are - Cindy F., Wendy, Kathy A., Gabi, and Marian. Best of luck to you all. :)

And lastly, once again I thank you for your encouragement and concern for my mom and me. I'm doing well and my mother is finally showing some improvement. Hallelujah. And I do welcome and appreciate all of your comments - never think they're wasted....

Does your husband do the Fantasy Football too? My two sons do this for the NFL but they also like Collage Football, too.
Your blog is great! Your stitching is even greater. I love your blog and I visit often.
Hope your mom is feeling better and your ears improve. My father-in-law had that from flying in the WWII for so long. He flew in a B17. Lots of noise in those big planes.
Thank you for coming by faithfully and leaving comments they do mean a lot to me and I sure do appreciate them so much.
Please, enjoy the game and take care.
God Bless ~
Lenna
Was it you who went to Scotland? I think the Pipper was sorta gorgeous, myself!
Beautiful photos and is it lush over there or what? I love to hear them talk. Maybe someday I will get to go over to Scotland and see them.
Cheers ~

Great Progress!!! I love Football season!!! =) I grew up in a house where every one of the family members had a different team they rooted for, I still feel that cozy at home feeling when I hear the sound of a football game on the telly!

My DH sounds like yours! He goes to all home games with his brother. Tonight the wives get to go! :)I'd rather be home stitching, but since I was honored to be invited, I'm going! :)

I just kitted up that same pumpkin chart last night, it's so cute!

Wonderful stitching!! I love the alphabet apple, I have never seen that before. What a neat gift for a teacher that would be. :)

Carolyn -

Just love the Alphabet Pumpkin, how cute. I know what you mean about the "other woman". My husband has been gone the last three Saturdays for some football related activity with more to come until Superbowl time.

Take it easy.

Ahhhhhhh, football. Cooler weather and lots of Sunday tv watching and stitching. :) I love pro football and follow it, watch the games, and even place a bet here and there. :) I'm hoping to go to a Bills game in October. One of my brother's lives near Buffalo and goes to the games.
Love your stitching projects. Especially the Travel one.

I am "G" sitting on "O" too. Ready for the kickoff and will be pulling hard for the Wolfpack tonight! Living in Columbia, it will be difficult to go to work tomorrow if they win!

Love all of your stitching. LOVE the pumpkin and I keep seeing it. I think that is a sign I need to add this one to my stash.

OMG my DH told me about 3 weeks ago.....21 days till draft!! I know exactly how you feel. I love my stitching time when he's watching football all day! We are going to Western MI vs U of MI on Saturday. My son goes to WMU and this may be their chance to beat the Big 10 team! NFL is bigger in my house with Fantasy and the FAN thing on Direct TV. Every game is on!!! Love all your WIP too....I almost forgot I was on a stitching blog!! Ha ha

I'm with you when it comes to college Football, DH made sure I had no plans for Sat night since it's the start of the season for OU and they are on TV. Now when it comes to pro ball I'm right there in front of the TV with him LOL.

The stitching all looks fantastic.

Beautiful stitching Carolyn. I'm drooling over your travel sampler. It's SO beautiful. Congrats on your finishes. The heart looks great and the Alphabet pumpkin is simply adorable!!! Love all your wips too.
Thank you very much for the award, although I don't understand for what it is. It mentions coffee...so that can't go wrong. (coffee addict here...lol)

Hi Carolyn, Love your stitching. All these pieces are so pretty. Maybe NCSU will play better next time. (I graduated from State in 96 - always hoping for a great season!) In the meantime, I bet that mudpie was super! Meredith

Well, unless our teams (State & Duke) improve soon...it's gonna be a long football season...I'm thinking HOCKEY is gonna be a better thing to watch for viewing pleasure! At least you won't have to change the color scheme!

(nice stitching btw!)
