Good News at Christmas Time

Yay! Surgeon doesn't want to replace DH's shoulder until all possibilities are exhausted. The first surgeon irrigated the area; some patients get relief with this. Also gave DH some alternatives to try first. He will eventually need the replacement done, but it could buy him a few years. So good news for us! Thanks so much for your prayers, comments, and well wishes. They were all truly appreciated.

In light of the season, I've seen some beautiful decorations, trees, nativities, etc. I thought I'd share a few of my own.

Truly my favorite room at Christmas. I love everything about the tree. Each year it grows to accommodate the increasing mass of ornaments. However, this is the last year for many of these. My children will all be married by next Christmas and I'm giving them most of their ornaments for their own trees. However, I retain the right to a few of them. :)

I crack up every time I see this. I love this plate, but do you notice the incongruity? Doesn't everyone have a machete hanging in their kitchen?? (Gift from DS from HS mission trip)

These candles on the top and the little sparkly church and house below on the right are very special to me. They're from my childhood and before, so I guess in some eyes they would be ancient LOL. My soon-to-be new SIL gave me the Dickens house last year; it has a lacemaker and he knew how much I loved needlework. Think we'll keep him...

And as always, nativities are my passion. I have many in various forms, but I love all of them.

This particular one a dear friend stitched for me years ago. Many hours of hard labor here. We have to be somewhat careful where we put it. Zoe (demon cat) knocked off the little lamb, and Indiana ate him. So we're trying to preserve the rest!

BTW, in case you noticed the threadbare condition (chewed on, I should say) of Montana's "couch", Indiana "made it his own" first. This is our dining room that was originally used as a den. Now it's an extra room that I'll turn back into a dining room when I don't have to worry about said "puppy" chewing it all. Hence the lovely sofa....LOL (See last post)
While not in the pictures here, I have gates in front of some these items to keep Montana away from temptation....

And I leave you with one final picture. "Santa" (my brother) surprised us with a gift under the tree on Christmas Day a couple of years ago. What house is complete without a Harley Santa? Is he ugly or what?!, but DH thinks he's hilarious...sigh.

Hope you all have a wondrous Christmas season!

Great news! Since he knows it's serious, he MAY take it a little easier so it will last longer?? Your home looks lovely! We all have a 'machete' of some sort, don't we?

Beautiful Christmas decorations. Each room looks fabulous. As for Montana, well, I guess the couch is now "his". :) I hope he learns to leave the rest alone. :) And all I can say is "Good Luck!" I haven't put my tree up yet. But with Rory it should be interesting. LOL

That is wonderful news about DH not needing the surgery. I do hope the other ideas work for him.

What a beautiful home. Your holiday decorations are stunning! The puppy will grow up but face it, mutton is hard to resist and the cat gave it to him!

Such beautiful decorations! Cracked up at the machete. No, I can't say that I have ever seen one hanging in the kitchen before. :-)

Your tree is lovely! Love the windows in that room! It's great to have such special memories with our decorations. I wanted to get the Possible Dreams santa with the motorcycle and Mr. and Mrs. Santa on it. Or the blowup decoration with the Santa on the motorcycle. So far, I don't have either! Montana will get older eventually and hopefully the gates will be able to come down!

Your decorations look beautiful! I know what you mean about the gates. I have the Christmas tree behind a baby gate and most of the other decorations are either back behind it or way up high. lol The boys still manage to get an ornament or ball off the tree. lol

Wish my pets would have at it with my sofa downstairs so I could really justify something new, lol! Perhaps Montana and Indiana would like to visit?

I LOVE that window of yours. So pretty. Beautiful room and tree. So glad to hear the good news about your husband. The manchete made me laugh. Mike got himself one too and has his next to his bed...until he finds a better place...which might happen somewhere in the years to come.
Montana is cute as always. Had to laugh about his couch
