I Know I'm somewhat biased, but....

...my DH is awesome! Lookee what he made and gave me last week.
These...

...became these and more.

Oh Nancy, you would be proud of the job he did. Nancy has pics on her blog of her own set of homemade scroll frames and gave me the instructions. I saw hers in October last year and have been coveting them ever since. So I've been nagging...er...hinting strongly about them and voila! A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

Maybe I'll be encouraged to pick up my HAED once again...

...or stitch some more on Two Birds; there's some actual stitching progress on this one...

...or stitch more on the Travel Sampler, now that I don't have all that mass of material to deal with. I didn't want to move the Q-Snaps to cover the stitched areas on this piece, so I've been waiting. To give you an idea of how helpful it really is, the scroll rod here is 36 in. long. I am just thrilled with all of these frames.
Here's the Man of the Hour...

Thank you, sweetie - I promise I'll put them to good use. :)

My Monday night stitching piece is the LHN Little Women series. Reading is just finished and it's on to Gardening or Baking...

So far...
My brother totally surprised me at Christmas with this lovely Quaker Heart from Shepherd's Bush. Here it is all done - a fun little stitch. Now how to finish it...

Have I mentioned that while I love finishes, I procrastinate in completely finishing them off??

And I couldn't resist posting this - I love this picture of Montana. Dang, he looks big, doesn't he??

Your husband is awesome! I have been avoiding working on Mary Wigham because of the huge amount of fabric to struggle with--this gives me some ideas! Thanks for sharing. :)

Congratulations on the scroll frames (I just love stitching on scroll frames, I have a bunch). Tell your dh that he is a credit to his gender.

Beautiful stitching and beautiful dog.

OMG!! THis is awesome what your hubby did. He has done an amazing job. I have a floorstand too, but only one size of the scroll frames, so not every project fits in there.

Nice work on your stitching. You have done a great job.

Love the picture of Montana too, he is such a beauty :)

Hugs,
Wendy

What a man!!! Now I am going to try and get my man to do the same. Wish me luck! : )) Nice progress on LHN Little Women AND a finish! I realise now more than ever that its good to work on smaller projects. One needs that satisfaction when the bigger projects don't progress fast enough.

How lucky are you? What a nice thing for your DH to do, so,,, your keeping him right? Good, he sounds like a keeper. Enjoy not having to hold all of that fabric while stitching.
Be always in stitches.

Oh, you lucky, lucky girl! He did a great job on them! I've never stitched on one, but I feel like I should be with the CatHRH that I'm working on!

I am another who loves stitching, but procrastinates on the finishing--I can't even tell you how many unfinished "finishes" are hiding under my bed!

Lucky you! Independent Mind has alot of fabric to deal with. I have never used scroll frames before. Maybe I should give them a try once. I know I love my frames.

I love your stitching. I am awful about putting off finishes too.

What wonderful new toys, looks like you have already gotten them put to good use. Give your dh a hug for being so sweet.

Aw what a sweet husband!! I love using Qsnaps but I do have a lot of fabric in the way on my big pieces. I have never used scroll frames and I don't want to spend the money to try in case I don't like them.

DH is a keeper! What a sweet gift to receive. Let us know how you like stitching with the rods vs. qsnaps.

Almost hate to say, wishing for rain to wash away some pollen here.

What a beautiful creation from your husband. My hubby's great, but he wouldn't be able to do that for me, bless him. Great to see them "in action" already, too!

Wow, those are great! Are the instructions posted anywhere? I'd like to give them to my dad. :)

Vicki in CO said...

Great guy you have there! I got those instructions from Nancy a couple years ago because I needed a longer scroll rod set than I had. He never could figure out how to get the dang screws in the rod; he tried everything and finally gave up. Does your DH have any 'hints' on how he managed it? (Mine is NOT very handy!) :)

Oooooooooh! Lucky girl!!!!!

I look forward to seeing more progress now that you've got such great equipment ;-)

So happy you used my instructions and got several sets made. I see you've already put many to good use! I'll love seeing your progress on them now! You've got some beautiful things going on them! Glad he poses so nice for you for his glamor shot! Montana is handsome for sure! Between you and Kathy you make me jealous of such beautiful big dogs!

Wow, your dh is amazing! My dh is great in many ways, but he doesn't support my stitching at all - in fact, he sees it as a giant waste of time, lol. I've learnt to live with it, he spends so much more time watching tv and reading, that I don't feel it's justified!

What a sweet guy! I stitch in hand but have friends who use frames/rods/snaps and know how beneficial it is to have a bunch of them. So you can have even more WIPs!! ;) You never know when the urge to stitch something else other than your current WIP will strike.

Love your SB finish, and your LHN series!

Your pup is ADORABLE!! I love goldens.

How do you attach your fabric to the scroll rods? I have handi clamp ones but need bigger sizes. I am just not sure how to get the fabric attached securely and easily.
