Whirlwind...but it's all good

Whew! In the past few weeks, we've watched YDD and fiance graduate, moved both of them out and back into two different places; moved ODD and DH out and into two different places; and they're off on a two week trip.

Here's the very happy graduated couple...

And all the chilluns...

ODD and DH are moving to CA in July, so they will be here with us for a few weeks before they take off. Can you say Skype and webcam?? While I'm thrilled for my children, of course it's a wrench to have them move completely to the other side of the US. So we're trying to plan visits, etc., already. I'm glad technology makes it so much easier to keep in touch now. :)
My son (left in photo) has been nicknamed Super Mule, as he is a master at moving people. Good thing he worked for a moving company for two years. Sure has come in handy - hehe, poor thing.

Alas, my stitching is practically nil, but I did stitch a gift for a friend's special BD.

This is a heavy-duty acrylic box; they come in several different kinds and sizes, from Cooper Oaks; and they are awesome to use for needlework.

Meanwhile back at the homestead, we now have "The Mya" as we affectionately dub the queen, (ODD's pomeranian) racing around the house.

Funny how they both fold the same leg up underneath them. Montana looks woebegone, but trust me, he is thrilled to have Mya around. :)

Congratulations to the graduates, a lovely photos. I understand about the wrench when they move so far away. We followed one of ours to NZ, from Australia & have been here for nearly three years.
I love the gift for your friend and especially the second box and scissors with fob. Such beautiful colours.

You sure have been busy! I am happy to hear that your children are doing so well, I imagine it has to be hard to have your children living in different parts of the us, it sure makes it hard to visit as much as you want to. Thank heavens for technology though like you said so you can still be connected. All the stitchy items are very beautiful!

Congrats to the graduates!!! What proud moments and lovely memories Carolyn. : ) I love the box you stitched for your friend. Looks very practical. How exciting for Montana to have a little friend to spice things up. I am sure there is a lot of humour in the house with the two of them. : ))

Whew, you make me tired just thinking about all that moving.
I agree Skype is the answer. We use it to talk to our grandchildren when we don't see them for a while.
That acrylic box is a lovely idea and you made a beautiful gift.
Hang in there girl.

Moving (and packing) are not my favorite things....so doing it twice for 2 different kids was quite the chore! Congrats to all the grads though!! I love the internet and the communication it allows!!! How on else would I have met such a wonderful person??? I'm sure you will keep in touch with them even if you are miles away. I can't tell you enough how much I LOVE my box. I don't have any cool scissors either, so the colored ones you gave me are my FAVORITE!!!! Thanks again!

You have beautiful children, Carolyn! Congrats to the grads, and best wishes to the kids flying the coop. It is hard to see them spread their wings--even if that's what you prepare them to do since birth. ;) Big hugs! I remember when DH emigrated to the US (from Ireland) in 1985 & his parents didn't have a phone in their house. Yesterday, I talked to my mom in Colorado via Skype for an hour. It's crazy how far technology has come--but I'm so thankful. Love the stitching, and the pups are adorable!

Love the stitching. I feel your pain about being apart - I have treasures in Idaho, Pittsburgh and DC and we live in Michigan! Actually it was the mother and the father that moved the most, giggle! Thanks for your nice comment.
