Ahhh....Spring!

The smell of flowers and budding trees is in the air - yes, spring is coming, and none too soon for me. But for those already suffering with allergies, this first finish is for you. It was a Christmas gift from my sweet sister-in-law. Bless Ewe-Pine Mountain.

...Next up is Needle Delights' Scarlet... now how perfect is this for an NC State fan? Though let's not discuss this year's season....ouch.

...Another block on Alphabet Zoo.

...Some progress on Karen's RR - Anagram Diffusion's Sampler Saisons. She used VC Hand-dyed Fibers; loved stitching with these and the colors are perfect!

I learned a new trick from another stitcher this weekend at our Myrtle Beach retreat with Susan Greening Davis (more on that later). For those that remember gum wrapper chains, you can use the same technique with ribbons and create lovely little ribbon chains to attach scissors to baskets, fobs, etc.

So when Kate gave several stitchers some scissors in her beautifully sewn scissor holder, this looked like the perfect attachment. :)

Zentangle is now framed; first one was pretty, but a little too bright, so I went with a slightly toned down version - better, I think.

This week my youngest DD and I are off to CA to see my oldest DD and SIL...the temps here will be 70-80 degrees. In Los Angeles, they'll be in the 60's. What is wrong with this picture?? LOL

God bless you all and everyone take care.

That little lamb pillow is so dear, Carolyn--I love the fabrics that you used. And, yes, I remember making chains from gum wrappers--I once had a huge one (wonder whatever happened to it?)... Fun idea to substitute ribbons!

Enjoy LA--hope it warms up for you (I would love it to be anywhere near 60 up here in PA!)...

Great update!!! Love the finishes!! And of course, I love my Saisons - I'm glad you have enjoyed working on it :) Cool ribbons for your scissors - I used to know how to make those when I was in the AF and had to secure my line badge to my fatigues - I have no idea how to do that now...? Zentangle looks awesome!!!

Have a great trip!!

I see you've been staying out of trouble by stitching! When you get back from your western jaunt, call me and we'll do lunch and have a bit of a SAL okay?

Hey Carolyn. You are a busy bee:-)
I enjoyed see all your stitched goods. That little pillow is darling and that piece in red, which looks to be needlepoint. Regardless, it's very pretty.
Enjoy your stay in California and come back and tells us about your visit.
Hugs.
Jackie.

Carolyn, what interesting things to be working on. I really love the pink Victorian house you stitched on Nancy's RR. I just loved looking at the various RR's! Really intriguing! And I love that YOU loved working with VC's silks. I just received an order from her to do a Sampler Girl Jane Austen sampler. I can't wait to try them!
