Stitching and Snow Cream

Not too much stitching to show, though I've been working on several items. Two of them secret, so they can't be posted yet. I added three more hearts to my Friendship Sampler; will be sending it off again soon.

Started Two Birds by Alessandra Adelaide...

Years ago, my DD gave me this for Mother's Day when she was twelve, so I proudly hang it in my kitchen. So maybe there's hope that one day she'll become a stitcher?

She has always loved Celtic designs. Who knew she'd end up marrying a guy of Scottish descent...

And two of my favorites - the queen and her subject...

Montana, a picture of my true baby (besides DH, of course....)

He's such a sweetie.

I've had numerous requests for Snow Cream, so here is a general recipe.

1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 can evaporated milk
1 t. vanilla
Snow (which seems to be in abundance in quite a few places!!!)

Mix all well together and add snow to your desired consistency.
Pretty easy and is delicious by itself or with chocolate syrup, etc.
And yes, I know it has raw eggs - I've had snow cream this way since I was a child and never had a problem, but I'll let you be the judge of that.

So if any of you intrepid souls try it, I'll be interested to hear your opinions. :)

Thanks for the recipe! One of our customers was talking about making it the other day- and that we didn't have enough snow here for it. lol You never know about your DD- I used to stitch off and on from 8th grade til I was in my 20's-then once I joined online stitching groups it was all over- they keep me inspired and stitching, as well as blogs, etc.:)

Thank you for the recipe....I had never heard of snow cream!!
Oh how I wish one of my DD's would be a stitcher, or a knitter, or crocheter!! They don't have any interest at all.
Love the dogs!!

Take care, Marion

Your Two Birds will be fun to do. The AA's are nice to do up. My only DD has a knack for picking up the TWD's like her mom and has become an accomplished stitcher herself. She stands as a 4th generation of stitchers in our family. Having that history to share is a wonderful thing to hold dear to our hearts.
Be always in stitches.

Nice stitching, Carolyn. The snow here is really dirty now so don't think I'll be trying the snow cream, lol.

Love how the hearts in your sampler are coming along!

There's always hope that your DD will one day come back to her stitching. My oldest dd has a project that she works on now and then over the last four years, lol. She's more of a crocheter than stitcher. :D

Lovely stitching, Carolyn! And thanks for the recipe for snow cream--with the 30" of snow we've received in the past 6 days, I think I could make enough to feed the entire state of PA!!

Thank you for the words of encouragement on my blog, I am finding life tough at the moment I think I wandered off the Lord's pathway... as you do!
I had taken details of your Zentangle as I have loads of variegated floss and they would be ideal for one.
I love your Hearts RR... and had to read your snow cream recipe twice, do you really add real snow?
Ours is dirty! So I'll leave that for you all in US where it must be pristine! LOL
I have just taught my daughter to knit for the second time, I first showed her when she was 9 and that was 38 years ago! She's doing fine its going to be a holey scarf!!
Blessings

Secret projects aren't any fun until you can share them!!! Montana is so cute! I see the gates are still in place.LOL I could try the snow cream since we hardly have any tracks in our snow in the backyard. Not even many squirrel paths yet! Good luck getting your RR out once again.

Do you think "we" all use the same recipe? That's about mine, too! Do you see that we and further south are supposed to get accumulation this time? Yeah, right! But if we do, and I can get some soft and clean snow, it will be made into snow cream! Love your stitching and your babies! That love of the scottish ran deeper than you realized, didn't it? Must've put them in the same networks...

Don't give up on your DD - I started stitching in my forties, so she still has a lot of time. But her first stitched piece looks really promising.
Looking forward to seeing more of the Two Birds.

Thanks for the recipe, sadly the snow has almost gone and what is still there is not the kind you want in your food.
I love the RR! And of course the doggies!

Your daughter's design is so cute! My DD is almost 9 and I keep hoping it'll rub off - so far her favourite stitching activity is winding floss..... I love your dogs - so beautiful!

What great projects you're working on! That piece that your daughter stitched must be a real treasure for you...
The snow cream sounds yummy - I'm surrounded by sand not snow though, so I'll guess I'll stick with Ben and Jerry's for now... :)
Also love the pics of your fur-babies.... they look so sweet!

Love the hearts project & nice stitching on the others. I wish I had a DD to share my love of stitching with. My son is afraid to let his girl friend get too close to me because I might infect her with my craftiness. Love the pet photos!

I've never heard of this food before, but I might try the recipe, anyway. The doggie pics are gorgeous. Is the Queen a Japanese Spitz? Samplers look fabulous!

Montana has gotten so big!! Love the photos. He really is a handsome boy.

That snowcream sure sounds interesting. And yes we have plenty of snow to try it with. LOL Though Rory has been eating his share. :)

We used to make snow ice cream too:0) Nice memory. Beautiful stitching!

What on earth is snow cream??? You don't actually use real snow do you? Am I being a blonde here? Anyways love your wips. x

I too make snow icecream but my recipe is a little different. I don't use eggs and instead of the evaporated milk, I use condensed milk (Eagle Brand) which is thicker. I love your friendship sampler - was this a design you came up with yourself?

I have never heard of snow cream before. Of course I can't get that in Florida! Your projects look good-I really like your fabric for Two Birds. Looking forward to seeing your progress on that.
