No More Frogs on PS! (& a little Christmas cheer)

I was able to stitch on this personalized sampler right much after my fiasco with frogs. The inside border goes so much faster than the outside. Hoping to finish the page by the end of the week.
Weekend turned out to be somewhat busy. I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is in less than two weeks and I haven't even begun to do anything for Christmas. Oh well, it always happens and it manages to all be done. Donna posted on her blog about a really cool Christmas tradition. Might have to incorporate that one in our house somehow. Can't wait to decorate the tree for Christmas! We have a tradition of going to get the tree Thanksgiving weekend and putting it up on that Sunday. Hope all my chilluns can be there this year. We play Christmas music, have pizza and hot chocolate (not sure how that one developed over time) and have a blast. I'm really big into our tree as I have been collecting ornaments for the children and us each year. Many of these are made by little hands, pictures, brass, crocheted, ceramic, pretty, not so pretty!, etc. But the memories attached are priceless. So, unfortunately, the tree gets bigger and bigger each year. Good thing it's in a tall corner. My DH has been lobbying for an artificial tree year after year, but our youngest DD (still in college) is pleading, not til she's out of school. LOL - Guess who wins this one? Right - the DD! :)

Great progress and it helps with no visiting frogs! I love Christmas just not putting up the decorations as it's a big chore. I think once the kids get older I will really love it again as they will do a lot of the work too. LOL We have an artificial tree as I'm allergic but I have great memories (other than the sneezing fits) of being a child with a real tree and all the fun putting the decorations up.

love the Christmas tree argument!!! We have gone thru that one too!!!! We moved into our house on thanksgiving weekend. So, we used an artifical that year, just because we didn't have time for a real one. After that, our youngest (in HS at that time) & I insisted we go back to a real tree. He is in college now...wonder what he will want?!?! Me??? REAL!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad the frogs went away. I love your Christmas traditions. Just this past year I passed onto my dd all the decorations (not the stitched ones) that I had for her tree, including her 1st ornament. I put up my stitched ornament at work now and only have a small tree at home.
She loved all the ones she had made in grade school and since she has a first grader and an almost kindergartner, she loved showing them what she did when she was little.
Keep the hot chocolate flowing and laughter going as long as you can!

Glad the frogs took the weekend off and you were able to make great progress.

I wish we could have a "Real" tree again but here in the desert it isn't practical, they would dry out way too fast so I'm happy with my fake tree.

Don't you love traditions :) We still do a real tree .. I'm just so not ready to give it up .. I mean, they are raised to be Christmas trees :) My dad "threatens" every year to get a fake one .. I just remind him what mom would say to that! lol

It's amazing how much we can stitch when the frog leaves :)

That sampler simply stunning.
Love your Christmas argument too. I always said I didn't want an artificial one. But once I had one I started to really like it. Now I don't want to go back to real trees anymore.

Yay! No more frogs! We are having a real tree this year for the first time. My DH used to work away and there was just no way i could get a real tree strapped to the car, home, off the car and in the house and up, with a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old 'helping' me! LOL
This year we are having the biggest one I can talk DH into! Hot chocolate and pizza sounds fine to me.
